Carrie McGonigle not believe that her missing daughter may be connected to a registered sex offender accused of murdering a California teenager.
"It would mean that she is dead, and I do not think about it," said McGonigle, whose 14-year-old daughter, Amber DuBois, was last seen walking alone to school, 13 February 2009.But officials say they are investigating whether John Albert Gardner III, who pleaded guilty Wednesday to raping and murdering Chelsea King was involved in the disappearance of Amber.
"We have worked closely with the Sheriff's Office San Diego, and our researchers are working with them if there is a connection," Lt. Robert Benton in Escondido, California, Police Department said. "We are involved in the daily briefings on the investigation of the King." Amber's father, attended DuBois Moe Gardner indictment Wednesday.
